Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using ReefTanker ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

Description of Service

ReefTanker is a web application that allows users to track water parameters, ICP test results, and maintenance actions for reef aquariums. The Service includes features such as:

Water parameter logging and visualization
ICP test result parsing and tracking
Neptune Apex controller integration
Salt calculator and recipe management
Action logging for maintenance activities

Account Registration

To use the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:

Provide accurate and complete information
Keep your account credentials secure
Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
Be responsible for all activity under your account

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the Service for any illegal purpose
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service
Interfere with or disrupt the Service
Upload malicious content or code
Scrape or harvest data from the Service
Impersonate another person or entity
Use the Service to send spam or unsolicited communications

User Content

You retain ownership of the data you submit to the Service, including tank information, parameter readings, and ICP results. By using the Service, you grant us a license to store, process, and display your content as necessary to provide the Service.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload any content, including ICP lab reports.

Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party services:

Clerk: For user authentication
OpenAI: For ICP report parsing
Neptune Systems: For Apex controller integration (optional)

Your use of these integrations is subject to the respective third parties' terms of service.

Neptune Apex Integration

The Neptune Apex integration connects to your controller over your local network. You are responsible for:

Ensuring your controller is properly secured
Providing accurate credentials
Compliance with Neptune Systems' terms of use

We are not affiliated with Neptune Systems. The integration is provided as-is.

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:

The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
The data will be accurate or reliable
The Service will meet your specific requirements

ReefTanker is a data tracking tool, not a substitute for proper aquarium care practices. You are solely responsible for the health and maintenance of your aquarium. We do not provide aquarium care advice, and parameter targets are suggestions only.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

Loss of data
Loss of profits
Damage to aquarium livestock or equipment
Interruption of service

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

You may delete your account at any time through the Service settings.

Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We will notify you of significant changes.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which our company is registered, without regard to conflict of law principles.
